Nepal continued their impressive start to the T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier by beating Malaysia by six wickets at the TU Cricket Ground on Tuesday.
Nepal achieved the target of 166 runs given by Malaysia in just 18 overs, losing only four wickets. Kushal Malla was the star of the show for Nepal, scoring a blistering 65 runs off just 34 balls, including seven sixes and two fours. Kushal Bhurtel also played a key role, scoring 43 runs off 25 balls.
Asif Shaikh and Rohit Poudel also chipped in with 32 and 2 runs respectively.
Earlier, Malaysia had posted a total of 165/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Seyed Aziz was the top scorer for Malaysia with 68 runs, while Zubaidi Zulkifil scored 24 runs.
Avinash Bohra was the pick of the Nepali bowlers, taking four wickets for 27 runs. Sandeep Lamichhane, Karan KC, and Rohit Paudel also took one wicket each.
With this win, Nepal has now won both of their matches in the group stage and has qualified for the semi-finals along with Oman. Nepal will play Oman in the last match of the group stage on Thursday to determine the group winners and runners-up.
