Nepal's immigration authorities have informed that last year (the year 2022) more than 5500 foreign nationals were expelled from Nepal so that they could not return to Nepal for a "specified period".
According to them, most of those expelled are foreign nationals who are living in Nepal "without obtaining a visa" or "without renewing" after the expiry of the visa period.
Apart from that, foreigners who have been convicted for various offenses have also been sent back "for a certain period not to come to Nepal".
Officials say that foreigners who have been expelled in this way are from neighboring countries bordering Nepal, from more than three dozen different countries.
