55 houses in Banke which were built by encroaching government forest have been demolished. Assistant Forest Officer Ganesh Khadka has informed that District Forest Office Banke has demolished the houses on the side of Hulaki road near Jhagadia village in Rapti Sonari rural municipality ward number 7.
According to the decision of the all-party meeting, he said that most of the government forest areas along the Hulaki road east of the Rapti river were under the threat of encroachment.
20 houses were built encroaching on Sheetalchhaya Community Forest located in Kohalpur 8, Astha Community Forest located in Kohalpur 7, Vindhyawasini Community Forest of Kohalpur, Bageshwari Community Forest, Jyoti Community Forest and Khaireni Community Forest of Vaijnath Rural Municipality under the Kohalpur Subdivision Forest Office of the district.
