Dadeldhura Hospital is the only hospital said to have health facilities with specialized specialist services in Sudurpaschim Province. However, there is not a single specialist doctor in this hospital, which has the post of 20 specialist doctors.

Dadeldhura sub-regional hospital, which is operating under the federal government, was upgraded to Dadeldhura Hospital by the cabinet meeting on 5 February 075 to provide special services. This hospital was upgraded to the largest hospital in the state to provide services to the residents of the seven hill districts in the Far West. However, now even patients with normal fever have to be referred to Dhangadhi. 

Special specialist hospitals should have 500 beds. However, even 100 beds in this hospital are barely functioning. Even though it is the largest hospital in the state, there is a situation where patients have to be referred to Dhangadhi Provincial Hospital, says Tank Prasad Pant, the information officer of the hospital. According to him, even after getting the status of a special specialist hospital, the rank is not even according to the sub-regional hospital.

The posts of 109 people were approved for the operation of the sub-regional hospital. According to that, there should be one 11th level medical superintendent, 9th and 10th level and 19 more consultant doctors. However, Mesu of the eighth level is running the hospital. There is not even a single doctor of ninth and 10th level working in Darbandi,” said information officer Pant. 47 out of 109 posts are vacant.
