    Mahendranagar, 8 August

Shiv Lingeshwardham, a famous religious tourist area located in Bedkot Municipality-4 Bagun of Kanchanpur, has been hit by erosion. The flood of Bagun River flowing near Shiv Lingeshwar is eroding the Dham area. Local residents complain that even this Dham is at risk due to erosion by floods.

"There was not so much erosion in previous years, this time the flood has caused a lot of damage to Lingeshwar Dham", says Mahendra Bohra, a local resident, "If the erosion is not stopped in time, there is a risk that this place will turn into a wasteland." He demanded that the local level should show vigilance in the protection and development of tourist areas by preventing erosion.

Lingeshwar Dham has a unique view of Chure Hills, which has made this area a popular choice for domestic tourists. "Lingeshwar Dham, which is the landmark of Bedkot, is important from the religious and tourist point of view", says Kapil Joshi, another local resident, "This town is also known abroad, so its preservation is necessary."

A temple built a few years ago in Lingeshwar area, idols and a 'selfie wall' built for tourists to take pictures have also been destroyed by the flood. "The Lingeshwar area is at risk due to erosion by the river, the temple built a few years ago has been washed away", complains Ganesh Dutt Bhatta of Bedkot Municipality-4.

He emphasizes that this religious and touristic area should be protected by building a strong embankment. When domestic tourism started to be chosen, the municipality built various physical structures at Lingeshwar Dham. The beautiful view of Lingeshwar Dham in Chure area, about eight kilometers north of Daiji Bazar along the East-West highway, attracts everyone's attention.

The view of Lingeshwar, which is around 500 meters wide and surrounded by greenery and peaceful environment, is fascinating. Local residents say that with the promotion of this area, the number of domestic tourists coming to observe is increasing. There is a popular belief that if you visit Lingeshwar Dham, your wishes will be fulfilled.
