462 families have been affected by the flood in Kailali. They have been affected by floods in various rivers. According to District Administration Office Kailali, the most affected households are in Bhajani Municipality, Kailari Rural Municipality, and Joshipur Rural Municipality.
Due to the flood in Kandra River, 150 families of Bhajani Municipality-7 Shiradhani Camp, 50 families of Ward No. 5 Kuti, 16 families of Puliapur have been affected.
Similarly, 15 households in Ward No. 2 Mohanpur, five households in Ward No. 3 Dhusi, and one household in Ward No. 8 Janakpur have been affected by the flood in the Kanda River in the same municipality.
Shivraj Joshi, information officer of the district administration office, informed that the crude kitchen house made of wood was also destroyed in Dhusi. It is reported that 237 families have been affected in Bhajani alone due to the floods of the Kanda and Kandra rivers.
Similarly, about 155 families have been affected due to flood in Kailari rural municipality-7. It is reported that 85 households have been affected in Chhatkapur Basanta, 50 in Badka Basanta, and 20 in Bhuiyanphanta. Tuniram Chaudhary of Chatakpur Basanta, who is also a ward member, said that the flood in the Kataini River entered the house. He mentioned that the big flood that occurred for the first time this year made Bijog.
Similarly, 56 households of Joshipur rural municipality-3 Phandia Bhitaria were affected by the flood of the Kanda River. The ward office has distributed water along with dry food to the residents who were starving after water entered their homes.
14 families of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-15 Kanari have been affected due to the flood of the Khutia River. Rescue operations are being carried out by local residents along with security personnel in the affected area. Due to the heavy rain since Monday, the water level in all the small and big rivers including Mohana, Khutia, Kandra, Kandha, Kataini, and Pathraiya, which flows through Kailali has risen.
In Bhajani Municipality, a team including people's representatives was deployed for rescue after the floods hit the houses of locals. Member of the House of Representatives Gangaram Chaudhary, Mayor Keval Chaudhary has also worked in the rescue of Bhajani residents who were affected by the disaster and moved their belongings to a safe place.
Bikram Chaudhary, the spokesperson of Bhajani Municipality and Ward Chairman of Ward No. 3, informed that after the flood of Kanda River broke the dam, the villages including Kanda were flooded.
