More than a thousand families have been displaced due to floods and inundation in Kailali.

Since yesterday, more than a thousand families have been displaced in Bhajani municipality alone. Mohana, Kandra, Kandha, Pathraiya rivers that flow through the municipality have all suffered major floods. Gangaram Choudhary, a resident of Bhajani and a member of the House of Representatives, said that the number of displaced people has increased due to floods in all the rivers, bigger than yesterday. "Thousands of families have been displaced", he said, "as the flood is increasing, this number may increase." According to him, the displaced people are living in Hulaki Highway, safe houses and schools. He, who has been involved in the rescue work since yesterday, informed that he is working for the rescue even today. Chaudhary said that even the postal highway is in a state of collapse.

Although all the nine wards of Bhajani municipality have been flooded, it is said that wards number 2, 3, 5, 7 and 8 are completely submerged. Residents of Wards 5 and 7 were less affected because the flood in the Mohana river had subsided yesterday. But today, the number of displaced people is increasing due to the increased flood in all rivers including the estuary.

Bikram Chaudhary, spokesperson of Bhajani Municipality and Ward Chairman of Ward No. 3, informed that the city area is completely submerged. "Today is completely ruined", he said, "We are engaged in rescue work." He called for the rescue of flood affected people and informed that they are preparing for the immediate distribution of food and water.
