Kailali is heavily damaged by floods and inundations every year. Bhajani of Kailali also suffers more damage due to flood and inundation. Bhajani residents cannot sleep peacefully during the rainy season.

"Every year floods cause displacement. "We live on the streets for two to three months", says local Surendra Choudhary - "For three months after the flood, it is like whether there is a government in the country or not." He says that instead of giving comfort, a long-term solution should be found so that there is no pain.

Bhajani's Ramakrishna Choudhary also says that the problem will not be solved by comforting only when there is a problem. He said that the main problem of flood and inundation should be identified and work should be started. "Due to the flood, the fields had to be kept fallow. Planted crops cannot be imported. You have to stay awake all night worrying about what will happen at what time", Chaudhary said. He said that a long-term solution to floods and inundation is necessary.

Every year due to flood and inundation, there is a loss of crores. Most of the areas of Bhajani are inundated especially due to the river. "When the flood enters the settlement, the problem is more. Without drainage, the risk of flooding remains for months", says local Rita Bohra.

Chief of Bhajani Municipality, Keval Chaudhary, says that there are various reasons for Bhajani to be flooded. Bhajani is surrounded by rivers from all sides. Due to lack of proper work to protect from flood, Bhajani is getting flooded. "The Kailash Dam in India has also caused more problems. After India closed the Kailash Dam, its impact has been more in Bhajani", said Chaudhary, the city head.

Ganga Chaudhary, Member of Parliament of Kailali Region No. 3, said that the Hulaki highway also caused the problem of flooding. He says that the problem is that there is no drainage and the height of the highway is 10-12 feet higher than the ground. MP Choudhary said that while the eastern area of Hulaki Highway is submerged in water, the lack of water in the western area does not mean that the water is drained, but that it is inundated.

National pride project Rani Jamra Kularia Irrigation Project, even though the embankment work on Pathraiya river is incomplete, Bhajani is inundated. When the project embanked some parts and left some parts, the Pathraiya river entered the settlement from the place where there was no embankment. Kedar Shrestha, the head of the project, said that due to lack of budget, embankment work could not be done in all places. Due to this flood, 1,822 households have been displaced in Bhajani municipality alone. It is reported that two houses were swept away by the flood.
