China has stopped publishing unemployment statistics.
The BBC reports that China has banned the publication of unemployment figures by age group after the data released every month started setting records.
According to statistics released last June, 21.3 percent of youth aged 16 to 24 in China's urban areas were unemployed.
Although China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released the monthly status of economic indicators last time, it did not release statistics on unemployment among this age group.
China began publishing unemployment statistics by age group in 2018.
