Anirudh Kumar Singh Yadav, an independent MP elected as a member of the Provincial Assembly from Saptari Region No. 4 (B), has been arrested on charges of murder.
Singh was arrested from Saptari headquarters Raj Viraj.
The police arrested him on the charge of murder in the year 2064. He was on the absconding list.
It was alleged that 32-year-old Dipu of Khoksarprabha gavis-1 was killed under the direction of Singh.
He was abducted from the then Bode Bersain gavis-4 on 9 June 2064 and on the same day was taken to Nengada gavis-5 Vairia tol and killed by five bullets.
Yadav absconded without even giving a statement in court after the complaint was made. The court said that the deadline to appear in court was issued, but he did not appear and accepted the crime.
While he was absconding, he participated in the campaigning in the provincial assembly elections held on November 4, 2079. But the police did not arrest him.
The sister of the deceased, Rita Kumari Chaudhary of Dhangadhi Gavis-3 filed a criminal complaint against nine people including Singh at the District Police Office Saptari on 14 June 2064.
