The anticipated hearing in the minor rape case involving cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has once again been postponed.

Kathmandu District Court adjourned the trial due to a lack of judges while the final settlement of the case was being decided.

The hearing of the case against Sandeep was scheduled on the same day (today) when the Nepali national cricket team left for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

Sandeep would not have been allowed to go to China if the hearing in the case had proceeded on Sunday. But the Kathmandu District Court adjourned the trial without a bench as there was no judge.

The final hearing of the case against Sandeep, who is accused of raping a minor, was scheduled for today. While it is uncertain whether Sandeep will go or not, other members of the Nepali cricket team are going to China on Sunday afternoon.

Earlier, Sandeep's lawyer Sarojkrishna Ghimire said that only after the hearing of the case is decided, it will be decided whether Sandeep will go to China or not.

Earlier, Sandeep had to go behind the team to play in the Asia Cup due to the pending case last August as well. He was allowed to go to Pakistan the next day on the 11th, even though he was scheduled for the 10th of August, but he was not sent to hear the case on that day.

The Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, have been inaugurated only yesterday (Saturday).

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda also participated in the opening ceremony. He is currently visiting China.
