An attractive gate has been constructed on the road leading to Maitidevi temple to welcome the devotees to the temple. Since morning, devotees have been queuing for worship, worship, and darshan.
On the occasion of Navratri, some devotees have planned to visit at least nine goddess temples and plan to visit different Shaktipeeths every day. Many devotees are preparing to have darshan at the Shaktipeeth in the capital and go to the goddess temple outside for darshan.
There is a religious belief that on this occasion, which is also called Saradiya Navratri, if you visit the Shaktipeeth, your wishes will be fulfilled. Mahakamali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati are also especially worshiped on this occasion. There is a religious belief that if you do special sadhana for nine days, you will reach your heart and get strength. Prasad of Goddess Durga, who is ritually worshiped till the ninth day, is taken from the hands of the dignitaries on the day of Vijayadashami.
On the occasion of Vijayadashami, the important day of Dashain, jamara, and red tika are used as prasad to Durga after ritually anointing the jar placed in Ghatasthaphana. On this occasion, some castes wear a white akshata tika.
