Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is scheduled to leave for the United Arab Emirates to attend the 28th Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28) on November 29.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dahal will attend the High-level Segment of the COP 28-World Climate Action Summit being held on December 1 and 2, and will also deliver a national statement.
To further advance the mountain agenda in the COP negotiation process and raise Nepal's profile on climate change, the prime minister will also host a high-level side event titled "Call of the mountain: Who saves us from the climate crisis?" the ministry announced in a press release on Monday.
"In the margins of the High-Level Segment, the prime minister will have bilateral meetings with heads of state, heads of government, and other high dignitaries attending the Conference," the press release further reads.
