Mahendranagar: Repair and painting of Nepal-India border post will start from today in Kailali and Kanchanpur. Earlier, in coordination with the Indian side, the Department of Surveyors has been repairing and painting the border pillars, but this time, the government has given the responsibility to the Armed Police Force.

Armed Police Force No. 7 Vaijnath Headquarters, Attaria, Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police Kumar Neupane informed that the maintenance work will start from Banggraktan in Kailali and Dokebazar in Kanchanpur from noon.

"According to the responsibility given by the government, the Armed Police Force is starting the work of repairing the border pillar in cooperation and coordination with the Indian side from today," he said, "Vichori border pillar Armed Police and Jori Pillar Indian SSB will repair and paint." Headquarters of Armed Police No. 35 towards Kanchanpur and No. 34 in Kailali will do the work.

Similarly, Ganapati Armed Police Superintendent Prem Rawal of Armed Police Force No. 35 informed that the repair work will start from the main border post 753 at Dokebazar on Monday afternoon in the presence of security committee and people's representatives and Indian Border Security Force (SSB).

"Of the main border pillars in Kanchanpur, 66 will be repaired by the Armed Police Force, while 13 will be repaired by the SSB." Superintendent of Police Rawal said, "For that, the government has also appointed a representative from the survey department."

He said that only the border posts built after 2014 have been given the responsibility of maintenance/maintenance from the government. In the last few years, the Armed Police Force has been increasing its presence on the borders of the Far Western Province.
