English club Manchester City has entered the finals of the FIFA Club World Cup. After defeating the Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds 3-0, City has made its way to the finals.
City's Mateo Kovacsis and Bernardo Silva scored a goal in the match at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday night.
Although the Red Diamonds were under pressure from the start of the game, they had to resort to an own goal at the end of the first half for City's goal. Marius Hoibraten scored an own goal in the first minute of added injury time in the first half to give City a 1-0 lead.
In the 52nd minute, Mateo Kovacsis doubled City's lead. He managed to score on a pass from Kyle Walker. Then, in the 59th minute, Silva scored a goal to ensure a comfortable 3-0 victory for City.
Now City will play against Brazilian club Fluminense on Friday for the title. Fluminense defeated Egypt's Al Ahly SC 2-0 and qualified for the finals.
City is the winner of the Champions League of Europe and Fluminense is the Copa Libertadores winner of Conmevol (South America). This is the first participation of these two teams in the FIFA Club World Cup.
AFC Champions League winners Red Diamonds will compete against CAF Champions League winners Al Ahli SC for third place on the same day.
