Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam has replaced Indian opener Shubman Gill to regain the number one position in the latest ICC ODI rankings for batsmen, announced on Wednesday.
The change in the rankings occurred as a result of Gill's absence from the ongoing One-Day International series against South Africa. Babar currently holds the top spot with an impressive 824 rating points, while Gill is a close second with 810 points.
India's Virat Kohli is on the third place in the ODI batting rankings. India's captain Rahit Sharma is also in the fourth place. Australia's David Warner is on the fifth place of the ranking.
South Africa's Keshav Maharaj remains at the top of the ODI bowling rankings.
Similarly, Australia's Jaesh Hazlewood is in the second place, India's Mohammed Siraj is in the third place, Australia's Adam Zampa is in the fourth place and India's Jasprit Bumrah is in the fifth place.
