Kathmandu: The film "Shambhala" directed by Meen Bahadur Bham has been selected to represent Nepal at the upcoming Oscars. This was confirmed by the Oscar's Nepal Selection Committee on Thursday, the last day of application.
Since "Shambhala" was the only film submitted for consideration, the selection committee decided to recommend it for the international feature category of the Oscars without any opposition. The formal announcement is expected to be made on Friday.
"Shambhala" will now be sent to America by November for consideration by the Academy Awards. The 97th Academy Awards will be held on March 3, 2025 in Los Angeles, USA.
In the meantime, "Shambala" is scheduled to have its premiere at the Nepali Hall on Friday.
