Kathmandu: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residence has come under attack for the second time. According to The Times of Israel, a fireball was launched targeting Netanyahu's home, landing in the courtyard. The Israeli police have confirmed the incident, though the identity of the perpetrators remains unknown.

The Israeli security agency Shin Bet reported no damage or casualties from the attack. At the time of the incident, Netanyahu and his family were not present at the residence.

This is the second attack on Netanyahu’s home in recent weeks. On October 19, Hezbollah carried out a drone attack near his residence. Although there were no casualties, Netanyahu and his wife, Sara, were at home during that incident.

Political leaders across Israel have condemned the recent attack. Opposition leaders Yair Lapid and Benny Gantz called for immediate action to bring the perpetrators to justice. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant criticized the attackers on social media, stating they had crossed a line, and instructed security agencies to expedite their investigation.

As reported by The Jerusalem Post, while Israel has been successful in intercepting long-range missile attacks, the defense system has faced challenges in neutralizing short-range strikes. The October drone attack required the deployment of four fighter jets and a missile to counter the threat.

Short-range drone attacks, flying at low altitudes, pose additional risks of collateral damage, complicating defensive measures further.

The recent string of attacks has highlighted ongoing security challenges for Israel, intensifying calls for enhanced measures to protect high-profile targets.
