Kathmandu, Nepal – A man has been arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport with 1.1 kilograms of gold. According to airport customs officials, Ashish Subedi of Chitwan was caught with the gold upon his arrival from Dubai on an Air Arabia flight.
Subedi was found to have concealed the gold in a rubber container.
During preliminary investigations, Subedi has stated that he had gone to Dubai on a visitor's visa but returned after failing to find work. He claimed that an unknown person had offered him 10,000 rupees to deliver the gold to Kathmandu.
Subedi has been handed over to Gaushala Police for further investigation.
