    A writ has been filed in the Supreme Court against the decision to waive the fines of local-level candidates.

    President Bidya Devi Bhandari decided to waive the fine on February 5. Advocate Lokendra Bahadur Oli filed a writ against the decision in the Supreme Court on Monday. The hearing of the petition filed against the President's Office has been scheduled for Friday, February 12.

    It was decided to fine 24,638,880,000 rupees to 1,23,650 candidates who did not declare their expenses in the local elections held on May 30.

    However, on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, President Bidya Devi Bhandari decided to waive the fine on February 5.
