Florida International Boarding School, Mahendranagar celebrated this Saturday with a distinctive way of establishing communion between the younger generation and the traditional food items having roots in Sudurpaschim. The perfect demonstration of the application of scientific principles and theories was projected through the projects of students.

The program was initiated with the distribution of the result. The top three students who were able to succeed in positions in their respective classes were honored with certificates and sweets.

As soon as the distribution ceremony came to an end, the Food Fest and Science and Art Exhibition began. The fest began with the motto of connecting the students with the traditional food items of Sudurpaschim Province. From maada, sel made from millet( kodo), traditional aachar, batuk, fini, etc. Adding up fast food from the neighboring country India like Pani puri. Western fast food such as fried noodles, local Nepali fast food Nepali dumplings, chatpatey. The major beauty to the table was added by the dishes from Tharu cultures such as dhikki and mithi bhaat. From Newari culture there was Yomari. Overall, the dishes from several backgrounds were decorated on the table from the roots of tharu culture to paschimi culture prominent food items were encased on the table.

Besides the intention of embracing the traditional food items that are fading away, FIBS was emphasizing students develop ideas and strategies that can help students develop teamwork, leadership, communication skills, and critical thinking skills. Students were able to sell their products in quite an impressive way and were also able to fill their pockets.

Guardians were quite amazed by the way students were able to cook, sell, earn and clean all on their own with proper guidance and instruction from the teachers. Mr. Amit Sunar, one of the reputed personalities of SWEET NEPAL, who happened to visit and perceive the food fest mentioned that the hard work and energy of the students have impressed him personally. He was having a jubilant time enjoying the dishes.

Likewise, the Art and Exhibition program was conducted along with the fest. The initiative was to help students regularly implement science and technology learning. Students successfully prepared the application of the Hydraulic press, and Pascals Law through their experiments. From a fountain to a live demonstration of JCB's working, the students successfully explained their experiments.

The Guardians and the audience were fascinated by the eye-captivating performance of the students. The program was successfully conducted by the FIBS family to prioritize the traditional food of Sudurpaschim, establishing a connection between traditional foods and scientific principles with the younger generation.
