  • Doctors withdraw protest program after reaching agreement with government

    Mahendranagar, 18 September

Six points have been agreed between the government and the protesting doctors' association. With the agreement, the doctors have withdrawn all the programs of the declared movement.

Non-emergency services were stopped on Sunday as a protest against the non-action of the culprits in the incident of beating up two doctors of the union working at Sancho Hospital in Hetaunda.

During the talks, the government promised to take action against those who abuse doctors according to the Act 2066 on the Safety of Health Workers and Health Institutions. It has also been agreed to proceed with the necessary process to prepare a bill related to medical services within 3 months in order to solve the problems such as improving the service facilities of doctors, security, manpower mobilization capacity, and reducing the tendency to go abroad.
